What a Engineering!


There was a really good documentary on the construction of this on Discovery or TLC a month or so ago. It is located in southern France, and is the highest bridge in the world. It is a truly amazing piece of engineering, especially considering the method used to span the distance between the piers. BTW, the red pillars you see in the photo were removed following completion of the bridge. The Millau Bridge over the River Tarn in the Massif Central Mountains is more than 984 feet high -
Taller than the Eiffel Tower.

I must be slow - it just looked like a random street picture to me at first. A friend had to point out the folks in the upper right. I wonder how they walk sideways like that?

In Japan, everything can be accessorized. Kind of like the U.S. in the Eighties, just with fewer commodore 64’s and cuter cartoons.

This year’s must have accessory? This little piece of golden poop:


OK, OK, I don’t know if it’s exactly the “must have” accessory of the year, but the manufacturer has already sold over 2 Million of these poop charms, each for the sole intent of attaching to your cell phone.

Unless you’re Japanese, I’m not sure how you would go about the purchase, but I’ve done my duty. As the old saying goes: “I can only lead you to the poop, the rest is up to you.”

LOS ANGELES - Lindsay Lohan won't be satisfied with a cake and some candles when she turns 21. The raspy-voiced actress, who celebrates her big birthday on July 2, said Wednesday on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that she plans to "milk it" when she becomes old enough to legally go to clubs.

Lohan said turning 21 has "been a long time coming" for her friends who own clubs in Los Angeles. After she's legal, "they don't have to worry about getting into trouble," for letting her inside, she told host Ellen DeGeneres.

She'll celebrate by partying in Vegas, she said, and also with a dinner in Malibu, Calif., with family and friends.

Lohan, who stars opposite Felicity Huffman and Jane Fonda in the upcoming Universal Pictures film "Georgia Rule," also showed off a white tattoo of the word "breathe" on the inside of her wrist.

"And it's `breathe' because?" asked DeGeneres.

"I forget to breathe sometimes," Lohan replied.

There's a big conference of beer producers in the most beautiful town in the world: Amsterdam, the Netherlands...

At the end of the day, all of the presidents of all beer companies decide to have a drink in a bar.

The president of Budweiser orders a Bud, the president of Miller orders a Miller Lite, Adolph Coors orders a Coors and the list goes on...

Then the waitress asks Arthur Guinness what he wants to drink, and to everybody's amazement, Mr. Guinness orders a Coke!

"Why don't you order a Guinness?" his colleagues ask.

"Naah. If you guys won't drink beer, then neither will I."

It seems like there is a race on to design and sell the next big extreme sport. We’ve had Powerisers, Xliders and Scarpers and now we’ve stumbled upon this mad idea.

Imagine having roller blade type wheels attached to almost every point of your body including your elbows, feet, chest, back and knees and then imagine hurling your self down a hill with a crash helmet on….

This looks like it truly is an extreme sport for the brave or crazy!
